Launch Day
by Jesse Fournier |  | 5 CommentsFor our first blog post as the new owners of Lacroix Boards, Adam and I want to start off by thanking the community for showing us so much support. It truly means the world to us! It’s our promise that we will not stop innovating our boards until they reach perfection. With that being said, we wanted to use this blog post as an opportunity to share some of the small updates we have made to the boards so far:
- All boards will now be equipped with the new Hoyt 2.0 receiver and the Hoyt Puck 2.0 Remote. Based on our testing, this is by far the best remote available in terms of connectivity and reliability. We plan to eventually bring our own ideas to a custom remote that will be full integrated with our boards in the future to come. But, for now, the channel hopping, upgraded hall sensor, increased durability, and USB C compatibility are all features of value that a lot of other remotes lack.
- Another change we made is equipping our boards with full titanium hardware. If you're familiar with Lacroix at all, you'll know that titanium bolts are almost everywhere you look. But now... it IS everywhere you look. The Barrel™ and Jaws™ 2.0 never shipped stock with these beautiful oil slick/rainbow colored titanium bolts, but now they do. Not only that, but we were also looking for an upgrade for the Hypertrucks™ and Hypertrucks™ Lite, so we now have upgraded the old stainless steel kingpin, washers, and nuts to Titanium. Stronger and lighter are just the benefits physically - they also add a touch of visual appeal with their rainbow PVD coating.
- With those two updates being a better “bang for your buck,” we now also offer free shipping inside of the US (domestic) and we also offer a "credit" for international shipments. For example, if an order is international, whatever the shipping cost is at checkout, a discounted rate will be automatically applied.
- Last but not least, we moved. We are now permanently located in Seneca SC.
Anyways, that’s all for now! We will use this space in the future to keep the community updated about the awesome changes we are making to our boards. Until next time…

Adam and Jesse I heard you two are the ones that took the big leap and are bringing Lacroix Boards back to life! To which I say kudos & hallelujah!!! I wish you all the best of everything and good fortune and I have very high hopes that y’all will be able to meet or exceed the level of customer service and reputation for reliability that made Lacroix such a special brand (acknowledging the hiccups with the later model storm cores and the shenanigans that happened in the last few weeks anyway)…
I struggle to come up with examples of other companies …of any kind that had customer service as good as they did in their prime. despite the shenanigans They pulled out of the blue at the end there screwing people like me over & out of thousands and thousands and thousands & thousands & thousands of dollars I still trust my life hundreds of miles a month on their products that have thousands and thousands and thousands & thousands of miles on them.Cant Wait to see y’all do better and move the sport in the gear and the technology forward and wish you all the success in the world! thx again!
anyway i have afew questions…
let’s say I bought a lonestar Super sport now
Would it be built using mostly existing parts that you acquired in the purchase of the company?
Which parts are y’all having to source new now? batteries? decks? enclosures?
Can you confirm that the orders you are gonna be fulfilling will all be getting newly assembled battery packs?
if so Are you using the same manufacturer(s) that made battery packs for Lacroix Canada?
If I bought a lone Star Super sport right now What would be the same as one they assembled and shipped before they closed their doors and what would be different ?
same enclosure? same deck? same electric speed controller? same assembly inside the enclosure? with the same type/gauge wiring ? and same type of sentinel circuit board with the same capacity fuse etc?
(I love that y’all are upgrading to the puck 2.0 Good on you there!)
What if anything will be different the way you are going to build these boards versus the way lacroix Canada built them?
Will you be will you be programming the VESCs basically the same /shipping them w the same or similar stock settings When it comes to the electronics?
for instance will you be setting the internal programming up in the vesc tool so that for instance The motor temperature sensors are basically disabled and motors are treated like expendable replaceable parts? (which i love)
Juust trying yo get a feel for what yall are gonna do same g what y’all are going to do differently.
pie in the sky question now… any provisions in definitive agreements associated with the sale and purchase of the company that in any way address try to do anything to make it right with all of the people who place orders and we’re told their boards were being assembled and going to ship presently that never did and you know for those folks that got screwed out of thousands & thousands & thousands & thousands of dollars with no notice whatsoever that the company was going out of business or even went out of business just had to figure it out once emails stopped going through etc? I know this is not a problem you created and guessing that the answer is nope but figured I’d ask a questions I’m sure other people are probably wondering.
thanks so much for reading this and thanks in advance if you’re able to respond and again I wish you all the best and encourage y’all to do even better than they did!
Hey, I’m write happy to see the brand resurgence. The barrel was on my shortlist for my first board, then the company went under quite abruptly. A couple months later I bought my first estate from Acedeck. The first gen Nomad has been phenomenal for the last couple years, I have put over 2000 miles on it. I’ve been looking at an update in the future, and was seriously considering their big battery horizon, but if you’re running similar costs then you’ll be back on the shortlist again. Welcome back, I’m excited to see you guys innovate and build!
Do you plan on upgrading the motors. As I understand they are a bit underpowered for the current generation of boards available now. Also the website is hard to find on Google. The only way I get here is through Instagram.
Hey Gary,
We expect to have the Lemans in stock within 7-10 days! Let me know if you have any other questions.
