Blog Post #2 (Post Launch)

Hey everyone, it's now post-launch and we’ve made multiple significant updates to the Lacroix Board line up! But first, let’s start with the small updates.

Our boards got a small spec bump in the battery department. The cells in all boards (besides the Lonestar Supersport) have changed to a higher capacity cell. Riders always want for more range and this helps with that. We’ve switched from p42a to p45b cells, increasing the range across almost the entire line up by 7%, with one exception being the Lonestar Supersport. However, we didn’t forget about the Lonestar Supersport that’s for sure. We are now using Samsung 50S cells (previously Samsung 50E), which enable for even more power output than before.

Secondly, we’ve been getting a lot of comments on what app to use for our boards. We always have to recommend a few different apps because there isn't one that does it all, unfortunately. Our customers ask for an app to read temperatures, cell voltage, ride tracking, etc... Well, we decided to put our money where our mouth is and develop a new app specifically for our boards. We’re launching the new app sometime next summer, and we’re looking for some volunteers who would like to alpha/beta test it.***

Now, time for the big updates and some juicy details. Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably have heard that we released 2 refreshed products. One of them being the new Vesta motors and the other one being the new Stormcore 2.0.

The new Vesta motors feature increased power as well as significantly increased cooling and reliability. When it comes to power, it has more than you could ever want. If you want specifics, each motor has over 8,000w of power when pushed to its limits. Next up, cooling. Cooling is nothing short of impressive as well with the new mesh covered vents at the bottom of the motor and exhaust vents at the top of the can, you'll only reach high temperatures when pushing this board to its absolute limits and even then you'll be shocked with how well it keeps its cool. Lastly, there is reliability. Reliability is nothing to joke about. Our new Vesta motors now feature quad NMB bearings that are not only sealed to keep the elements out, but they are also serviceable.

Now onto our new powerful VESC platform designed in collaboration with VESC Labs, the Stormcore 2.0. Not only is the new Stormcore 2.0 reliable, but it's reliable at 200 amps of motor current on each side. This new platform is so powerful that we couldn't even find motors to keep up with it. It will out power almost any motor you can fit on our board.
